Homework 7

This week we’re focusing on family vocabulary, question words, and reading comprehension. The speaking task is optional, so it’s a good chance to consolidate what you’ve learned!

Kinship Vocabulary

  • Review the vocabulary for family members (kinship terms such as parents, siblings, & children). New words this week: 男 (nán – male), 女 (nǚ – female), 孩子 (háizi – child), 儿子 (érzi – son), 女儿 (nǚ’ér – daughter).
  • Complete Workbook Reading Comprehension A (p. 30)
  • If you feel ready for a full review, try the attached quiz to test your understanding of Lesson 2 Dialogue 1

Grammar: Question Words

  • Read Grammar Point 3 (Textbook pp. 51–52) on question words: 谁 (shéi – who), 什么 (shénme – what), 几 (jǐ – how many).Do not forget 吗 (ma – yes/no question marker) introduced in Lesson 1.
  • Then complete Workbook Reading Comprehension B (p. 30) 💡 Tip: In Chinese, question words stay in the exact place where the answer would normally appear.

  • Listen to the attached audio recording, and record your own answers (personalised) and upload to Google Classroom
